Jim Raynes led Rye's Conservation Commission for many years, and many of the town's forests, wetlands and open spaces are preserved because Jim had a conservationist's vision that he worked tirelessly to enact. The Rye Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing, this Thursday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m. to discuss the Forest Management Plan for the Rye Town Forest. Town Boards' and Committees' meeting notices and agendas will be posted on the bulletin boards at the Town Hall and Rye Public Library. It shall develop and recommend plans for future conservation programs and facilities and submit and explain such plans annually at a joint meeting with the Council at a time specified by the Council, and at such other times as requested by the Council.
